Velvet's spin-off goes global with Netflix

Bambú Producciones has reached another agreement with Netflix and will be taking the spin-off of the acclaimed Velvet worldwide on the leading subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) platform.

The Spanish production house has confirmed that Velvet Colección will be added to Netflix's global catalogue on 31 March. Telefónica's Movistar+, which has co-produced the series, will retain the exclusive linear TV and VOD rights in Spain.

Under the terms of the agreement, Velvet Colección will be for the first time available for viewers in Latin America, where the original series, Velvet, was highly followed on Atresmedia's pay-TV network Antena 3 Internacional.

Bambú Producciones is one of the Spanish companies that has developed a productive commercial relationship with the SVOD giant.

Producing the first Netflix Original in Spain, Las Chicas del Cable, Bambú Producciones will be also filming the docuseries El crimen de Alcàsser, which is set to premiere globally in 2019.
