Eleven Sports draws viewers as Singapore makes Winter Olympic debut

Eleven Sports, which won the rights to broadcast the Winter Olympics less than a day before it began, delivered its Singaporean audience more than 371 hours of sports action from Pyeongchang.

Coverage from South Korea was provided across web and mobile platforms, and broadcast daily on Eleven’s seven channels on Singtel TV, as well as online on Mediacorp’s Toggle and Okto TV platform.

Selected events - such as sole Singaporean Winter Olympian Cheyenne Goh’s 1,500m short track speed skating races – were also streamed on Eleven Sports’ Facebook page.

It was the first ever Olympic Winter Games in which a Singaporean athlete competed, and the country’s fans cumulatively watched almost 32,000 hours of content from the Winter Games, the broadcaster said.

“Eleven Sports is extremely proud to be an Official Olympic Broadcast Partner for the first time and given that previous editions of the Olympic Winter Games have barely been covered, if covered at all in Singapore, our comprehensive, multi-platform exposure of the Games has been a huge step up,” said Danny Menken, group managing director, Eleven Sports.
