Following an alliance between Claro and Sony, the subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) service Crackle will be added to the former’s video offering in Latin America.

Under the terms of the agreement, Claro video will integrate Crackle into its platform in Chile, Peru, Ecuador, the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica.

The alliance with América Móvil’s Claro video saw Crackle already launch in Mexico in November 2017.

“The launch of Crackle through Claro video enables us to expand the service’s footprint through one of the most important digital platforms in Latin America,” said José Rivera Font, VP and GM, Sony Pictures Television Network Latin America.

Even though Claro video subscribers will get access to Crackle through the Claro video platform, subscription to the service will cost extra.

“Through Crackle, we continue expanding the entertainment options for our users. We’re thrilled with Crackle’s integration, as it complements our offering,” added Alberto Islas, GM, Claro video.
