Digital platform YuppTV has acquired rights to stream the Indian Premier League (IPL) T20 cricket tournament this year in Australia, continental Europe, Southeast Asia and South America.

Rights holder Star India has awarded the over-the-top (OTT) video provider the exclusive digital and television rights for Europe, South America, Southeast Asia, as well as non-exclusive rights for Australia.

The high octane T20 tournament, which runs from 7 April to 27 May 2018, will see eight teams battling for supremacy this season. The tournament will include Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals who are back in action after serving two years of suspension.

"By bagging the exclusive digital media rights for the Vivo-IPL 2018, we are enabling live, on-the-go access to the cricket tournament for our users. Our endeavor is to provide them with seamless, real-time access to all the matches and allow our viewers from across different geographical boundaries to watch their favorite teams in action on their preferred device," said Uday Reddy, founder & CEO, YuppTV.

Cricket fans can watch online or via the YuppTV app on smart TVs, smart Blu-ray players, streaming media players, gaming consoles or connected mobile devices. The OTT service provides a wide library of on-demand content as well as live TV from South Asia.
