Indian digital content creator The Viral Fever (TVF) has sealed a deal to bundle its library of videos and web series on Xiaomi’s recently launched range of Mi smart TVs.

TVF’s short, medium and long-form original content will be available over-the-top (OTT) through a native app on all Mi LED TV 4 (55), 4A (43) and 4A (32) models in India.

The Mi TV 4 measures 4.9mm – which the Chinese manufacturer claims to be the slimmest LED in the world – with a frameless display design to offer an ‘immersive viewing experience’.

To coincide with the partnership, The Viral Fever has released the latest episode of its longest running title, Tech Conversations with Dad – a show about exasperated youngsters explaining the nuances of technology to their clueless and curious fathers. Internet star Amol Parashar and veteran actor Kumud Mishra, who appeared as father and son in TVF’s web series Tripling in 2016, will appear in the first Tech Conversations video of 2018.

“Digital content is making new inroads into the audiences’ lives, and Xiaomi's new offering is truly disruptive for the Indian market. TVF is the pioneer of premium digital content in the country and is very focused on innovative ideas to satisfy the needs of Indian youth. The MiTV4 offers a great internet TV experience and is loaded with great content that is not available on other TVs in its category and that too at an unbelievable price – that is bound to shake up the TV eco-system in India,” said Karan Chaudhry, COO, The Viral Fever.

Sudeep Sahu, product manager, MiTV, Xiaomi India, added: “With our content first philosophy, we hope to bring each Mi LED TV user a unique experience with a personalised interface. All this and much more is possible with PatchWall inbuilt into the world’s thinnest LED TV.

“TVF has been synonymous with ground-breaking content for the digital medium and we are extremely proud to have brought them on-board with their high quality immersive content offerings for all our Mi fans.”

The news comes hot on the heels of the recent announcement that TVF’s upcoming web series, Immature, has been selected as the only Indian representative at the inaugural Canneseries festival in April. TVF with its web series Permanent Roommates, Humorously Yours, Pitchers and Tripling, is considered a pioneer of the genre in India.
