Leading Asian content and media company CJ E&M’s new police drama procedural on its tvN channel is already proving a draw to viewing in Korea.
Starring heroine of tvN’s hit reality show Yoon’s Kitchen Jung Yu-mi and famous reality TV star Lee Kwang-soo, Live illustrates the lives of the busiest patrol unit in Korea. The drama concerns newly appointed police officers and their unpredictable daily tasks while they fight for justice, their beliefs and values, and was written by the television writer No Hee-kyung, best known for her hits including Dear My Friends and It’s Okay, That’s Love.
CJ E&M’s viewership rate of the fourth episode hiked to 7%, with an average of 5.8%, drawing an approximate 3% increase compared with the average rating of the previous episode.
“It is not a story of police heroes or revenge drama, but rather the power of ordinary people including officers, who can change the world,” commented No Hee-kyung. “Throughout their lives, I expect people to see hope for today as well as for a better tomorrow.”
