Viu teams with Phantom Films for Bollywood original

PCCW and Vuclip's video-on-demand (VOD) service Viu is producing its first original Bollywood film, in a tie up with Indian studio Phantom Films.

The comedy, High Jack, is set for theatrical release on 20 April, and will subsequently be exclusively available to stream by Viu subscribers.

Directed by Akarsh Khurana, High Jack features digital star Sumeet Vyas, along with Sonnalli Seygall, RJ Mantra, Kumud Mishra, Nipun Dharmadhikari and Amey Wagh. The comedy of errors follows a group of first time hijackers.

Viu, which provides localised regional and local premium TV shows, movies and originals, is now available in 15 markets including Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, India, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and Middle East countries of Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
