Tenfield-owned pay-TV channel GolTV has been awarded football broadcasting rights in Ecuador over the next 10 years.

The network had already been awarded by Ecuador's football federation with the TV rights through to 2027, but a court had annulled the contract. Through a new bidding process, GolTV gained again the broadcasting rights, beating to the ball DIRECTV, FOX Sports and Teleamazonas.

According to the pay-TV network, the games will be delivered to cable and satellite TV providers with no extra cost for the moment. Individual agreements are expected to be gradually reached with each operator.

Following the agreement, the LATAM-wide network says that it is ready to start broadcasting the championship from this weekend. Yet so far, only the State-owned CNT has inked a distribution deal with GolTV, and no more negotiations to this end have been unveiled.
