CAS3/Diablo communications problem

Been using Cas3 successfully for few years to update Predator in
T-Rex Cam and it always works perfectly.

Recently purchased Diablo Lite and at the same time upgraded CAS3 software from CIS81b to CIS82.

PC is Fujitsu-Siemens - Win XP/HE. Device Manager shows USB WinDriver present in Jungo device after installation.

This is what happens with Diablo when trying to upgrade Stealth.

Plug CAS3 into PC/USB - Diablo already in slot.
Start Studio – CAS3 connects OK – S/N visible – Red LED on/ Green LED off
Tab “Upgrade Cam”- Call Stealth file – Click Update

Grreen LED comes on and status panel says:-

“Wait for DIABLO CAM connection….”

Then after a few moments Studio Cas3 message pops up saying:-

“USB READ communication problem 20000015 timeout expired 80”

Try to load the file again but status panel says “Cam not inserted”

Restart PC and try again - no good.

Next I remove CIS82 and reinstall CIS81b. Same thing happens.

Then, by way of check, try to update the T-Rex and it works perfectly.

Any help with this greatly appreciated.

Try this order...

1. Launch CAS Interface Studio.

2. Plug CAS to USB (with diablo inserted).

3. Select Diablo from CAM Modules.

Thanks Ratchet. I've tried that start-up sequence many times. It doesn't change anything and problem persists.

This is a very known problem with the light version !

Try to put a very small usb cable beetwen cas and pc !

Or find someone with the diablo base, and ask to format your cam.

Hi, i have the same problem,but change your rs232 serial cable,it will work defenetly.

However I don't understand your suggestion. In order to program the Diablo cam the CAS3 is connected to the PC using a USB cable. There is no RS232 involved in this operation.

The reason with me was the upgrade to SP3.

use latest from d **labs c186 earlier versions had faults would not program /erase . use usb to connect cas3 to pc /laptop if cas does not connect to diablo when inserted in slot.try reformat then load latest underworld and newest data file.

This problem seems to come with the usb hub. Check that your usb hub is working in the correct order.Or check which hub would work best. If not then its a system base problem with your PC/Laptop.
