Kavipuvi Viamedia has launched YUV, an app for streaming original, mobile-first Tamil short form content.
The ad-free platform is targeted at the under-30s demographic, with content including web series, short films, short format shows and Tamil indie music. Kavipuvi Viamedia believes that it is eyeing a potential Tamil Nadu market of about 30 million users and as the content is subtitled in English, it hopes to attract subscribers around the world.
Some of the popular content on the app includes the series Livin’, and short film 93* Not Out. Subscription costs Re1 per day or Rs99 per year; with weekly plans at Rs5 or monthly plans at Rs20. YUV can be downloaded from the Android and Apple stores.
“We are a pure subscription-based, creative-vision driven platform, committed to our signature style of short form, fun and impactful content. In fact, we want to nurture a whole creative ecosystem around YUV,” remarked Kavipuvi Viamedia founder and director Lakshmipathy Ramasubbu.
