Indonesia’s OONA is adding two international news channels from Turkish Radio and Television (TRT) to its free over-the-top (OTT) mobile platform.
Through the distribution deal English language channel TRT World and Arabic channel TRT Arabi will now be available to 185 million OONA subscribers across Indonesia. NFCX subsidiary OONA works in collaboration with Metranet, a subsidiary of Telkom Indonesia, to deliver live and on-demand broadcast quality news and entertainment.
“We are delighted to be able to offer these renowned award-winning channels to our Indonesian viewers. Now they can stay ahead 24/7 with TRT's breaking and in-depth news, current affairs, and gripping documentaries, which are available in both English and Arabic,” said Christophe Hochart, founder and CEO, OONA.
TRT World, which launched in 2015, offers both global and domestic news from its Istanbul headquarters and three newsrooms around the world. News and culture channel TRT Arabi launched in 2010 and broadcasts 24 hours a day in Arabic.
Furkan Han, TRT World’s head of global digital and satellite distribution and partnership, said: “We’ve been investing in digital growth since day one, and provide our content to all demographics, in which ever way they prefer. Our partnership with OONA TV enables delivery of TRT World and TRT Arabi content to millions of people in Indonesia”.
