Free US film and TV streaming service Tubi is to make its library of over 8,500 titles from over 200 content partners available to stream over the internet directly on Comcast's Xfinity X1 platform.
The move is the latest in momentum for the company and its service and follows the launch of its Content Personalisation Engine, expanded partnerships with major studios, networks and media companies, and, claims the company, increased view time of 20X, or 1800%, since 2016.
Effective immediately, Tubi customers can launch the system’s app directly on the X1 platform and search and access the entire library using the X1 voice remote or by finding it in the X1 apps section. Soon X1 customers will be able to browse and search the entire Tubi programming library — spanning genres including anime, classics, comedy, drama, family, horror, niche titles and more — within Xfinity On Demand.
“At Tubi, we are dedicated to making entertainment accessible to everyone, which is why we continue making strategic deals that significantly expand our distribution network,” commented Tubi founder and CEO Farhad Massoudi. “This partnership with Comcast enables us to reach millions of TV and movie fans looking to easily access thousands of premium titles directly on the TV. We think X1 customers are going to truly enjoy this new service.”
