Google has expanded its OTT YouTube Premium service to Chile, Colombia and Peru, joining Brazil and Mexico in the subscription service’s Latin American footprint.
The YouTube Premium monthly subscription is charged in local currency, but totals around US$6. A family pack, which allows five users at once, costs about $9 per month.
The service includes access to YouTube’s original content catalogue, and a music service, YouTube Music. The music service offers ad-free streaming, background listening and the ability to download clips for offline consumption via a YouTube Music app and desktop player.
YouTube also said that it’s prepping “more, bigger original series and movies” and will expand to further in Europe and Latin America soon.
YouTube earlier this year renamed its Red ad-free subscription VOD service to YouTube Premium, and has raising its price to $12 per month in the US.
