Celestial Tiger announces first slate of Cantonese original productions

Aiming to showcase what it calls an authentic feel from Hong Kong, Celestial Tiger Entertainment (CTE) launches its first Cantonese original productions for cHK, its channel for contemporary celebrity-powered Hong Kong programmes.

The slate comprises three new TV series set in Hong Kong covering a variety of genres in original Cantonese audio, the first of which will premiere on cHK on 8 December 2018. Titles include The Other Side of Hong Kong, Urban Legends and Hong Kong Stars Restaurants. More original productions for cHK are planned for 2019.

Hosted by actor Jason Chan, The Other Side of Hong Kong challenges seasoned travellers to explore the city’s hidden gems and lets viewers in on some insider secrets only known by locals.

Urban Legends follows veteran actor David Siu as he explores the darker haunts in Hong Kong, from Black Hill in Kowloon to Mount Davis on Hong Kong Island, with the help of famous local meta-physicists. Hong Kong Stars Restaurants takes foodies on a tour of the best culinary delicacies, from local favourites to Michelin Star fine dining restaurants in Hong Kong. The series will air in February 2019 as a Chinese New Year special.

Together with our aggressive entertainment strategies, we will continue to invest more to produce exciting and high-quality programmes in order to feed our viewers’ growing appetite.”

Audiences in Singapore can expect a new series to be launched each month from December 2018 to February 2019, cHK and cHK On Demand are available on Singtel TV.
