Broadcast infrastructure firm Red Bee Media has revealed that it has provided systems integration services for Altice France, creating a completely new broadcast and news centre in Paris.
Altice France wanted to renew their facilities and create an entirely new, state-of the-art broadcast and news centre. Red Bee Media was selected to provide systems integration services and design, build and configure the whole facility.
Red Bee Media provided services covering design and specifications, workflow definition, procurement, logistics, cabling, integration, installation and configuration. The project has involved 30 fulltime staff from Red Bee Media and the coordination of over 300 external service providers.
The project was initiated in April 2017 and took 17 months to complete. The facilities were initially inaugurated with the launch of 7 channels in late August 2018, with broadcasts covering sports events such as the Premier League, the Champions League and Europa League. The official grand opening of the facilities took place on 9 October with the launch of the news channel BFM TV.
The facilities are said to cover all the needs of a major media company dealing with news and sports and include including a playout control room ready to broadcast 25 linear channels in HD and Ultra HD; a master control room (MCR) for news production; seven studios and galleries; 20 edit suites; 20 commentary booths and availability for two outside broadcast vans.
“We have created top-of-the-line facilities from where we can broadcast high-quality news, sports and entertainment to millions of viewers,” said Altice Media executive director Damien Bernet. “During this project, Red Bee Media has proved to be a skilled, efficient and reliable service provider that delivered with exceptional quality on a tight deadline.”
