NBCUniversal’s 24-hour children’s channel DreamWorks is launching on Asian cable network Taiwan Optical Platform (T.O.P).

The carriage deal is the fourth for NBCUniversal for DreamWorks in Taiwan, following partnerships with Chunghwa Telecom MOD, HYA Cable TV and Ta Yang Cable TV.

The channel will be offered in English and Mandarin language options as part of the 冠軍套餐 package on Taiwan Optical Platform.

The flagship series Dragons: Race to the Edge, from the How to Train Your Dragon franchise will now be available to TOP viewers, along with Trolls: The Beat Goes On! From the Trolls franchise; The Adventures of Puss in Boots from the Shrek franchise; and Guillermo del Toro’s Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia.

“DreamWorks’ footprint across the region continues to expand as we announce a new partnership with T.O.P to extend DreamWorks’ entertainment to even more households across Taiwan. With original content that appeals to Asia’s audiences, we are confident T.O.P subscribers will be captivated by DreamWorks’ award-winning animation series,” said Christine Fellowes, managing director, NBCUniversal International Networks, Asia Pacific.

May Liao, president of T.O.P added: “We are excited to embark on this partnership with DreamWorks to bring the best animation out there in the market onto our platform. T.O.P is dedicated to offering a wide variety of innovative content for our viewers and we are confident that DreamWorks and its award-winning series will appeal to viewers of all age groups”.

DreamWorks is now available in eight languages across 11 countries in Asia either as a full channel or, in three cases, as a branded block. Recently the channel launched in the Maldive, and in June it was introduced to audiences in Hong Kong through a carriage deal with iCable.
