Looking Glass inks Chinese distribution deals

China’s state broadcaster CCTV and leading streaming platform Youku have acquired a range of factual programming from Australian distribution company Looking Glass International (LGI).
Alibaba-owned Youku has snapped up three 60-minute episodes of Deep Time History, produced by Flight 33 Productions for Curiosity Stream. The digital entertainment platform has also secured rights to Global Media Earth’s feature documentary Gods in Shackles and the six episode series Saving Sirga produced by Tuauana Films (pictured).
Documentary channel CCTV 9 has acquired licenses for Making Pandas (1 x 60’) from IFA Media in association with Media Development Authority Singapore, along with Sumatra’s Last Tigers (1 x 60’) a Novista production for Channel News Asia. Finally, it will be broadcasting Wild Cities (4 x 60’) produced by Crossing the Line Production for Irish public broadcaster RTÉ.
