Sling taps Discovery, beIN to beef up Spanish-language content

In a bid to increase its appeal to the increasingly important Hispanic market in the US, leading over-the-top service Sling TV is to launch Spanish language bouquets from and Discovery networks to its platform.
Specifically, its Best of Spanish TV offer will now include Discovery en Español, Discovery Familia and beIN SPORTS CONNECT, featuring six additional channels including the super popular LaLiga TV football channel. It will also see the addition of shows such as Mexicanicos and Remodelación en Pareja, as well as 24/7 LaLiga content to Sling TV. It has also launched multiple domestic Discovery channels to its base services and Extra offerings.
“At Sling TV, we continue to add valued content that our customers are asking for – from the immersive programmes Discovery offers, to even more coverage of the biggest soccer matches around the globe,” said Sling TV president Warren Schlichting. “Today’s announcement underscores our ongoing commitment to expanding the diverse mix of popular Spanish-language programming we provide our customers, while not compromising the overall value and affordability of the service.”
