Response Architects has launched Shopex TV, the first international TV shopping business in Nigeria.

Founded by Isi Abebe, Shopex is a multi-channel retailer that sells international products for everyday life. The channel recently completed its first round of financing with investment from television shopping and broadcasting advisors Expert Media Partners (EMP), based in Soho, London.

“We have worked on complex broadcast projects in Nigeria since 2003, and have developed plans for television shopping in East and West Africa in the past so we know the importance of having the right team in place,” said Ed Hall, managing partner of EMP. “Abebe has a wealth of experience and contacts within the global DRTV industry and the proposition is compelling, so we’re delighted to be early-stage investors in this business.”

Using television as its primary channel,as its primary channel, Shopex TV offers the Nigerian market a wide range of lifestyle, fitness and kitchen products that they can access at affordable prices by using their mobile phones to place an order.

"We're excited about this project having observed Nigeria's logistics and payment platforms mature over the years," said Abebe. “We're confident that we can make it work and we have a line-up of great products and offers from across the globe that we feel will appeal to the Nigerian market.”
