Buoyed by its success in producing programmes such as Narcos, film company Gaumont is growing its global team of distribution and co-production executives.

Joining in the newly created position of vice president, TV distribution, APAC is former Entertainment One sales director Ben Bishop who will be based in Sydney while Alli Farrell (pictured) joins from Sony Pictures Television in Hong Kong and will now serve as vice president of marketing to develop strategic marketing initiatives for worldwide TV sales and will be based in Los Angeles. Both execs will report to Vanessa Shapiro, president of worldwide TV distribution and co-productions.

With the expansion of Gaumont’s TV co-production business, Alexis Barqueiro, based in Paris, has been promoted to the new role of vice president, TV co-productions and acquisitions and will work closely with Jennevie Olivieri who has been promoted to manager, TV co-productions and acquisitions, working from the Los Angeles office.

“Over the past two years we’ve been aggressively bolstering our development slate and several new projects in Canada, Europe and Latin America are close to being greenlit, reinforcing our continued commitment to the expansion of our TV co-production business, as well as our sales distribution business,” commented Shapiro. “With this amount of growth comes the opportunity to invest in accomplished executives.”

Projects in development for theatrical release include the animated feature High in the Clouds, (based on the book authored by Sir Paul McCartney and Philip Ardagh and illustrated by Geoff Dunbar) and Plunder, a family treasure hunting adventure from award-winning writers, Leo Chu and Eric Garcia.
