UK-based independent entertainment production company back2back Productions has announced two factual-entertainment recommissions.

The contracts are for the third season of The World’s Deadliest (13 x 60’) for the UK’s 5Spike and Australia’s Seven Network; and the second season of Scrap Kings (20 x 60 mins) for the UK’s Quest, Sweden’s Viasat World and Germany’s ProSieben.

The Brighton-based indie’s franchise is produced by Benjamin Cole and uses first-person testimony and UGC footage to explore how split-second decisions can make the difference between life and death. The first two seasons are focused on The World’s Deadliest Weather and The World’s Deadliest Drivers.

The projects are exec produced by back2back founder and managing director David Notman-Watt who commented: “We put a lot of effort into developing stories with universal traction, which makes these global recommissions particularly gratifying. But it’s easy to understand why both of these series appeal to audiences from Sydney to Stockholm.”
