UK-based pre-school learning and entertainment experience app provider Hopster has launched a new children’s learning service with US pay-TV giant DISH.

The agreement aims to help kids learn through curriculum-led entertainment. Hopster will provide a mix of learning shows, music and video books, and will encourage kids to hop in and out of topics and develop a range of early years skills naturally, while having fun. Its multidisciplinary learning map is designed to support children’s individual learning journeys through shows like Sid, the Science Kid Shorts, Reading Rainbow Storytime and Sesame Street’s Count TV. As well as educational videos, Hopster also offers original animations and children’s songs including its popular Two Minute Tales with a modern spin on Grimm’s fairy tales.

Hopster’s SVOD content will be available to DISH customers with an internet-connected Hopper DVR (all generations), Hopper Duo, Joey (all models) or Wally set-top box. DISH customers can also access programming while on-the-go with the DISH Anywhere app.

Commenting on the deal, Hopster commercial director Claire Hunter Gregson said: “We are really happy to have been picked by DISH as the go-to children’s platform offering safe and educational entertainment for kids five and under. We believe that our content is unique on the service and hope that parents will appreciate the care we put into curating Hopster’s child-friendly video offering.”
