L.A/Paris-based producer and distributor Prime Entertainment Group has announced two major deals with WDR in Germany and Cinémoi in the USA for its series Hollywood’s Best Film Directors.

The 91x26’ documentary programme is Prime’s leading on-going series about the greatest film directors of Hollywood of all time. It includes among others the exclusive portraits and interviews of George Lucas, Ridley Scott, M. Night Shyamalan, Bertolucci, Francis Ford Coppola, Rob Marshall and most recently Bryan Singer who directed the biopic Bohemian Rhapsody and Rob Marshall whose latest film Mary Poppins Returns has just premiered.

Westdeutscher Rundfunk regional public service television channel WDR has acquired a package of 12 new episodes of the series starting in 2019. The programme will be aired on its One channel which concentrates on entertainment including films, drama series, documentaries, reports, magazines, music and top-quality cinema programmes.

For its part Cinémoi has renewed 20 episodes of the show for another year in the USA. Cinémoi focuses on film, fashion and international style. It launched in North America in September 2012, broadcasting to over 20 million households, as the first network on DirecTV dedicated to film, fashion, and lifestyle. Cinémoi began broadcasting on Verizon/FiOS in 2014 and has also been airing as well on Frontier Communications since April 2016.

“It’s a great satisfaction to have these two deals signed with WDR and Cinémoi, they are such great clients,” said Prime MD David Freydt. “This is the second deal in a row with Cinémoi this year and we also have been working together with WDR for more than 15 years especially for our cinema related shows. Our Hollywood’s Best Film Directors series is doing very well and it’s a great satisfaction for us to see that the show is being so successful among our clients who keep renewing it.”
