An all-star Taiwanese cast including Vivian Hsu and David Wang has been unveiled for HBO Asia’s forthcoming science fiction original drama Dream Raider.

Principal photography is now underway on the eight-part, hour-long episode Mandarin series, which is being shot entirely in Taiwan.

Joining Vivian Hsu (pictured; star of The Devil Fish, Seediq Bale) and David Wang (Project Gutenberg, Extraordinary Mission) in the cast is Jason Wang (GATAO 3-The New Leader Rising, Murmur of the Hearts).

The series, set to air and stream in 2019, is executive produced by Hong Kong filmmaker, Cheang Pou-Soi.

“Following the success of our first Taiwanese drama series, The Teenage Psychic, we are looking forward to once again be working with the talented storytellers in Taiwan on a genre that we have never done before,” said Jonathan Spink, CEO of HBO Asia.

“Science fiction is a genre that allows for limitless creativity and I can’t wait for our audience in the region to explore the futuristic realm and unknown possibilities of ‘dream-raiding’ with us.”

The series marks the WarnerMedia subsidiary’s sixteenth Asian Original since it embarked on original productions in 2012.
