BBC claims golden night at Golden Globes

BBC original dramas Bodyguard, A Very English Scandal and Killing Eve have followed up smash ratings with global acclaim at this year’s Golden Globe Awards.

Richard Madden won Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Drama for his role in Bodyguard, whose last episode in December 2018 became the most-watched episode of any drama series across all channels since current records began in 2002, Ben Whishaw won Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Series, Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television for his role in A Very English Scandal both commissioned by BBC drama and the awards event co-presenter Sandra Oh won Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series - Drama for her role in the hugely popular Killing Eve, commissioned by BBC America.

FX series The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story which premiered on BBC Two in the UK won two awards - Best Television Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television and Darren Crisis for Best Performance by an Actor in a Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television. Bodyguard and Killing Eve were also both nominated for Best Television Series - Drama, whilst A Very English Scandal was nominated for Best Television Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television.
