all3media international has secured a package deal with Discovery for its Discovery Turbo channel in Latin America, which will air Guy Martin slate of North One Television-produced shows about motoring.

Discovery Turbo will air all three seasons of Speed With Guy Martin, alongside Speed with Guy Martin: F1 Special, which sees the UK TV figure act as a bike racer going head to head with Formula One legend David Coulthard in a series of dynamic challenges.

In Guy Martin: Spitfire Restoration, the host restores one of the world’s most iconic fighter planes in the hope of seeing it take to the skies once again. Guy Martin vs The Robot Car meanwhile investigates autonomous vehicles as he attempts to build a robotic Ford Transit and become the first person to take on an artificially intelligent race car. Guy Martin: The World’s Fastest Van? follows Martin on a mission to make his favourite Transit van the fastest van on the planet.

Also included in the deal is a factual entertainment series called Escape. Produced by Maverick Television for Channel 4, Escape sees a group of highly skilled engineers put into a catastrophic scene – based on real-life events – in the midst of a hostile environment and left to find a way to escape.

“It’s great to see Discovery’s Turbo channel really embracing Guy Martin as a key brand in their acquisitions slate - we know this star engineer, racing driver and speed demon will deliver for their viewers,” said Janel Downing, VP of Latin America at all3media. “Particularly exciting is the acquisition of Guy’s F1 Special – a unique look at a sport much appreciated in the region, with F1 circuits in Brazil and Mexico, and of course the legend of Ayrton Senna, whose heroic status reaches far beyond Brazil’s borders. The ever-expanding Guy Martin slate from North One Television has already proved successful through global deals with Discovery, so we’re delighted to see this now extend to our first volume regional acquisition from Turbo.”
