Punjabi movies are being added to Amazon Prime Video’s library, adding another South Asian language to its existing Hindi, Marathi, Kannada, Bengali, Tamil and Telugu content.
Amazon will deliver the digital premiere of recent Punjabi box office success Banjaara: The Truck Driver, along with sequel Carry On Jatta 2, romantic comedy Vadhayiyaan Ji Vadhayiyaan and family drama Bailaras.
Banjaara tells three stories of three different characters played by Babbu Maan across three different eras and locations – rural Punjab, Chandigarh and Canada. While each story is unique, the one common theme connecting them is love.
Amazon Prime members can also stream the recent Kannada blockbuster Orange and the coming-of-age Bengali story Generation Ami immediately after their theatrical releases.
They join the hit movie Thugs of Hindostan, recently added to the subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) platform, alongside the heartwarming film Sui Dhaaga: Made in India, starring Varun-Dhawan-Anushka Sharma.
International fare on the menu for the New Year includes comedy film Uncle Drew with a cast including NBA stars Kyrie Irving, Shaquille O’Neal and Chris Webber, and the mystery Game Night. Crime drama Luther, starring Idris Elba, is also back with for season five.
For younger viewers, Prime is offering the all-new adventures of talking moose and flying squirrel Rocky & Bullwinkle.
