J:COM goes Verimatrix for business intelligence insights

Japan’s largest MSO, Jupiter Telecommunications (J:COM) has selected the Verspective Intelligence solution from Verimatrix to tap into the benefits of business intelligence capabilities, in particular monitor the performance of VOD service offerings.
The solution’s dashboards and visualisation tools will see use in enabling J:COM to make informed decisions about audiences, content, consumption, and overall service performance.
J:COM specifically selected Verspective Intelligence, the latest development to the analytics solution suite, to generate usage reporting and analysis the VOD services, providing a 360-degree view of networks and devices used by more than 3.8 million subscribers across Japan. This enables J:COM to maximise network performance and optimise subscriber experience in order to further monetise services.
Verspective Intelligence extracts data from delivery systems regarding VOD content to enable data analysis and reporting of system and content performance. Deployed via the Verimatrix Secure Cloud, the software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform can also collect and normalise data from subscriber devices in the future by leveraging the Verspective RT data collection solution. This offers a method of segmenting the subscriber audience based on how they engage with the services so J:COM can address potential problems and uncover upsell opportunities.
