Televisa inks production deals with Endemol Shine, Mediapro US

US Spanish-language broadcaster Televisa has announced that it will work in coordination with Endemol Shine Boomdog, a new studio in Mexico City, to develop and co-produce original series.

In addition, Televisa has inked an agreement with Mediapro US to develop and co-produce a minimum of three original premium series over the next three years.

As a result of the Boomdog agreement, the first co-production will be Hijos de Tigre (2019). The two will also continue with the co-production of Me caigo de risa (Anything Goes), whose third season was aired by Televisa in Mexico ending on 9 Aug.

“Televisa and Endemol have a relationship of 17 years. We appreciate the confidence that an international producer of the size of Endemol puts in Televisa to co-produce for the world market,”
said Patricio Wills, president and head of studio of Televisa Studios.

Meanwhile, under the deal with Mediapro, production of each project will be carried out by Televisa in Mexico, while Mediapro will be in charge of the creative direction.

The deal also includes that all new content development, created specifically for Televisa market or a third-party broadcaster, will be first distribute in the Mexican and US markets, and then will be distributed internationally.

The first original project is Unwanted, a scripted series that tekks the story of two families, from very different backgrounds, whose lives will change drastically after a subrogate pregnancy takes the most unexpected turn.

The second original series to launch will be Stroke, which follows the story of a man who wanted everything and felt he could do it all while balancing two divorces, several children and a hectic daily life. All seems in order until an extraordinary event turns his world upside down and presents new challenges. it will air in 2020.
