UAE legal drama series Justice, produced by Abu Dhabi studio Image Nation and Beelink Productions, is now available on streaming platform Netflix.

The series, which first aired on OSN in September 2017, is based on real-life cases from the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, which acted as a production partner in the project.

Reportedly the most expensive ever UAE TV production, Justice (or Qalb Al Adala in Arabic) centres on an ambitious and passionate young lawyer called Farah who has just returned home after gaining a law degree in the US.

The series was created by Oscar nominee Walter Parkes and Emmy award winning producer William Finkelstein. Directed by Ahmed Khaled Justice stars Fatima Al Taei, Mansoor Al Feeli, Mohamed Alamiri, and Malak Al Khalidi.

Image Nation’s CEO Michael Garin has described the series as “LA Law meets Dallas in Abu Dhabi”.

Speaking when Justice was first broadcast in the Middle East, Dr Salah Khamis Al Junaibi, director of corporate communication and international cooperation at Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, said: “The participation of the judicial department in the production of Justice was to educate UAE audiences about the legal system and spread awareness about our efforts through non-traditional avenues.

“We are hoping to teach our rules and regulations through a simple method that will reach all walks of life in the UAE and contribute to the effective consolidation of social security in Abu Dhabi.”

Netflix is increasing the amount of Arabic programming it has, with production underway on its first Arabic original, a supernatural teenage drama called Jinn.
