Aiming to service its expanding client base, UK-based post and content-servicing company Virtual Post has appointed Ben Churcher to the newly created role of head of post-production.

Churcher joins five-year-old Virtual Post in a period of rapid expansion. Last June, the company opened a new regional hub at Freedom Works in Brighton adding to its facilities in London and Orpington. It now employs 13 full-time staff, six of whom are based in Brighton and the rest in London and remotely. This represents a doubling of full-time staff in just 12 months.

Reporting directly to Virtual Post founder and CEO Jon Lee Churcher will oversee the management of all post projects and teams and brings to Virtual Post extensive knowledge of pre-, post- and multimedia-content production, as well as deep experience of delivering content to a global clientele.

Churcher started his career as a trainee videographer at Barcroft Media. Over the next decade, he rose through the ranks to become the YouTube channel owner’s and independent producer’s head of post-production. He has since held production manager and head of post-production roles at post house Green Rock and VR music event specialist Melody VR.

Commenting on the appointment, Lee said: “We believe that contemporary content management and post-production needs to reflect today’s fiercely competitive world of content creation — and to do that requires some reinvention. We are working to leverage the benefits of the cloud to complement traditional working methods, allowing us to offer unrivalled customisation, flexibility and service. Ben not only has in-depth knowledge of all aspects of content processing, but he also shares our vision of the future of post-production.”
