Food channel Gusto TV will be the first service of its genre to be offered to viewers of the STIRR free ad-supported streaming service provided by Sinclair Broadcast Group.
Running on iOS and Android devices, Amazon FireTV, Apple TV, Roku and on the web, the STIRR service went live on 17 January 2019 offering a curated mix of local and national channels across major streaming platforms. It includes access to some of Sinclair’s most popular national news, sports, entertainment and digital first channels; a video-on-demand (VOD) library; and a new local channel featuring programming based on a user’s location.
Gusto TV claims to be the world's most innovative linear food and lifestyle television channel. From in-studio cooking series featuring creative recipes and dynamic hosts to documentary and reality series about food culture and sustainability, it delivers a diverse mix of cooking and lifestyle programming including One World Kitchen, The Latin Kitchen, and Crate to Plate. Gusto TV is currently available on multiple platforms in Canada, Singapore, US, and other European territories.
“Congratulations to our new partner Sinclair Broadcast Group on their successful launch of their new streaming service. We’re looking forward to stirring things up when Gusto TV rolls out,” remarked Chris Knight, president and CEO of Gusto Worldwide Media. “When we built the brand, our goal was always to take Gusto TV internationally. Fast forward to today and Gusto TV is global.”
“We’re excited to have launch partners, like Gusto, join the line-up on STIRR as we look to expand our content partnerships in 2019. Gusto’s experience in mobilising its assets for digital platforms, combined with the fact that our audience loves watching food shows make this a great opportunity for STIRR and Gusto alike” added STIRR content acquisition and business development Ben Lister.
