Prime Entertainment Group has inked a deal with Alhurra TV in the Middle East and North Africa for five hours of documentaries from its biographies catalogue to be aired in February 2019.

Alhurra TV is a US-based public Arabic-language satellite TV channel that broadcasts news and current affairs. It began broadcasting in 2004 to 22 countries across the Middle East and North Africa and currently claims to be the third highest-rated pan-Arab news channel with the best viewership ratings in the region.

Prime has been reinforcing its presence in the Middle East for the last couple of years and among its most important clients are National Geographic, Al Arabiya, MTV Networks, Al Jazeera and beIN with whom it recently signed a major package deal.

The new deal with Alhurra includes Prime’s documentaries President Putin (1 x 150), The True Story of Angelina Jolie (1 x 52’) and The True Story of Madonna (1 x 52’). These have all been screened on channels such as Sky, Globosat and ZDF among others.

“We are very proud to work with Alhurra TV again this time,” remarked Prime MD David Freydt. “[It has been] a great partner for years. It’s a great satisfaction to see that [it finds] find in our catalogue the high quality shows [it needs] for [its] audiences in the Middle East, which is a growing market for us.”
