Days after two top execs announced their departures, AT&T has appointed ex-NBC chairman Robert Greenblatt to head up entertainment at WarnerMedia.
Greenblatt has been named chairman of WarnerMedia Entertainment and direct-to-consumer as part of a reorganisation that also includes CNN Worldwide president Jeff Zucker taking the position of chairman, WarnerMedia News & Sports. In that role, he’ll oversee Turner Sports and Bleacher Report
Also, Warner Bros CEO Kevin Tsujihara will add kids’ programming to his docket, while president of Turner International Gerhard Zeiler will become chief revenue officer of WarnerMedia.
The re-org is the latest in an ongoing executive reshuffle; last week, Turner president David Levy announced that he will be leaving the company, as did Richard Plepler, CEO at HBO.
The news comes as Just as AT&T’s $85 billion acquisition of Time Warner appears to be a go, following the US Justice Department’s loss in an appeal designed to block the megamerger.
