Vancouver-based production company Kafka Pictures has secured the option for multiple novels by New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Kaylea Cross in a move that it says is ground-breaking for TV.
Cross has gained wide acclaim for her military romantic suspense novels in the series Hostage Rescue Team, The Colebrook Siblings, Crimson Point and the soon-to-be-released series Valkyrie Vengeance. Her most successful series, Hostage Rescue Team, has sold approximately 425,000 copies to date and total book sales for the novels of Kaylea Cross exceed 1.3 million.

Commenting on the commission in a joint statement, Kafka Pictures founding partners Alicia Kafka and Jim Rapsas, respectively producer/director and development executive/producer, said: “The moment we started reading Kaylea's novels, we knew this was a treasure trove of fresh, pulse-pounding material that was poised to break ground on television as a brand-new category of programming for female audiences.”

Cross added: “I'm beyond thrilled to be partnering with Kafka Pictures at this exciting time in their growth, with all the talent at their disposal, and so much passion for bringing the characters I love to the screen.”
