TV5MONDE USA will broadcast the world television premiere of the Create Louisiana Grant-winning documentary, On Va Continuer, on 23 March.

On Va Continuer is the story of passionate dedication to the preservation of Louisiana Cajun French culture and ancestral knowledge through the tale of Louis Michot, a man whose life revolves around the culture he loves so deeply. From his lively on-stage presence in his Cajun rock band Lost Bayou Ramblers, through his life on the bayous and prairies of Louisiana, to the home he built with his own hands, Louis is a modern-day champion set on breathing life into a culture's "dying" language using the one form of communication understood by all: music.

The documentary feature film was the winner of the TV5MONDE USA-sponsored French Culture Film Grant programme, designed to support films that showcase both Francophone culture and the talents of Louisiana filmmakers. On Va Continuer! received this year’s grant (chosen from multiple finalists) in addition to the honour of a USA broadcast premiere on TV5MONDE USA network.

“TV5MONDE USA and Create Louisiana have chosen a documentary that highlights Louisiana’s unmistakable, sound and culture,” said the network.
