Two premium primetime dramas are headed to the Alibi channel after independent distributor all3media international secured a new primetime rights deal with UKTV for dramas Ms Fisher’s Modern Murder and The Bad Seed Mysteries.

Ms Fisher’s Murder Mysteries — from Every Cloud Productions, creators of the global hit new 1960s-set spin-off — centres on the niece of iconic lady sleuth Miss Fisher. UKTV will premiere the eight-part series on Alibi on Wednesday 10 April. Each episode will broadcast weekly in a 9pm slot, with a Sunday catch-up episode also available. The deal follows Alibi’s acquisition of all three series of the original Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries. all3media international distributes both titles as part of its ongoing first look deal with Fiona Eagger and Deb Cox’s Every Cloud Productions.

South Pacific Pictures’ The Bad Seed, a thriller based on the books by bestselling author Charlotte Grimshaw. The five-part drama tells the story of two brothers from a dysfunctional family who have raised themselves up from the desperate days of their childhood, only to see their lives fall apart when one becomes a suspect in a murder. Produced for TVNZ in New Zealand, The Bad Seed will debut on Alibi in May.
