Aiming to extends its technology stack that it calls future-proof, global video app developer 24i Media, has announced it will launch its ATSC 3.0 solution for broadcasters and pay-TV service providers at the 2019 NAB show.

With support for hybrid TV viewing, 24i’s ATSC 3.0 solution is designed to enable interactive solutions and viewing of streaming video content on a range of devices such as smart TVs, set-top-boxes (STBs), internet or hybrid, with low latency (CMAF DASH).

The solution is designed to greatly enhance over-the-air services for viewers while bringing together broadcast and broadband functionality to give audiences more content and choice. It is claimed to deliver a better experience for viewers, and also allow broadcasters to utilise addressable advertising and better measure who is watching which programmes. The solution is compatible with any ATSC device, therefore, said 24i, allows rapid integration on the preferred device.

“Apart from providing our customers with cutting-edge ATSC 3.0 technology, our solution makes it possible for advertisers to get better targeted ads based on several parameters such as channel, genre, and location,” explained Martijn van Horssen, CEO at 24i Media. “Empowering broadcasters to start serving personalised advertising and thus create new revenue streams from advertisers.”
