On the heels of unveiling of new platform capabilities, including the availability of multi-CDN, Verizon Digital Media Services has won contracts with THEO Technologies and IRIS.TV to integrate their technologies with the VDMS streaming network.
The partnerships will see the addition of the THEOplayer Universal Video Player and IRIS.TV’s Video Personalisation Platform in expanding VDMS’ capabilities to deliver personalised experiences on a single platform.
THEOplayer Universal Video Player is a video playback solution designed to facilitate video experiences on any platform, and any device. It will use the VDMS Platform’s Smartplay technology including server-side ad insertion (SSAI) and smartplay digital rights management (DRM) to make easier monetisation and protection of content. Pre-integration with VDMS’ playback APIs is said to deliver a high-performance viewer experience and advertising functionality, built especially for the challenge of streaming live events.
Powered by artificial intelligence, IRIS.TV is a leader in video personalisation and programming that is said to be driving the rapid growth of video views and revenue for digital publishers and broadcasters. The company believes that personalisation paired with metadata enrichment maximises the impact of recommendations and generates unique insights about audience behaviour and content value, to retain engaged viewers.
“These partnerships demonstrate our ongoing commitment to provide our customers with access to all the services needed to deliver great content embedded in a single platform,” said Verizon Digital Media Services president Ralf Jacob. “The integration of these technologies brings advanced features that can help bring great playback capabilities and personalised services to every viewer on any device.”
