Colors Marathi readies launch of Big Boss Season2

India’s version of Big Brother, Big Boss, is set for its second outing in the Marathi language beginning 26 May on regional entertainment channel Colors Marathi.
Actor / director Mahesh Manjrekar will return as host in the second season of Big Boss Marathi, which is produced again by Endemol Shine India. The show will run each evening, with new footage to be streamed on Viacom18’s video-on-demand (VOD) platform VOOT.
“Regionalising a concept like Bigg Boss makes for a great content as well as revenue proposition. The concept allows tremendous opportunities for innovative integrations and alliances with a plethora of brands, making it one of advertisers’ favourite,” said Ravish Kumar (pictured), head, regional entertainment, Viacom18.
“Igniting debates and opinions, Bigg Boss Marathi proved to be one of the buzz-iest brand in the Marathi entertainment space last year, attracting not only the television viewers but also a massive number of digital savvy viewers, garnering views and impressions that set new benchmarks in Marathi television entertainment.”
Colors Marathi witnessed 49% growth in the last fiscal year, with Bigg Boss contributing a large part of it, added Kumar.
The second season boasts 15 as yet unnamed personalities flung together in a house for 100 days, from a politician to a lavani performer, a celebrity chef to popular artistes from both urban and rural Maharashtra.
