Spanish telecoms engineering firm Albalá Ingenieros has been awarded a supply contract for upconverters, downconverters and cross-converters for the external lines of its national broadcaster RTVE’s Estudio B4 facility at Torrespaña.

The synchronisers and converters supplied by Albalá are HXC2000C01 cross converters from the TL2000 product family. The communications controllers are TLE2001C02 models, also from the TL2000 line. The former module is a digital video format converter for 3G/HD/SD-SDI signals that is designed to perform conversions necessary between formats using the same field frequency (50 Hz or 59.94 Hz), including de-interlacing, scaling and aspect ratio conversion.

It also includes an advanced de-interlacer with motion compensation and a sampling structure converter with both horizontal and vertical polyphase filters capable of converting to formats with higher resolution (up-conversion) and to formats with lower resolution (down-conversion).

The module includes a 3G/HDSD-SDI video input, (IN), a 3G/HD/SD-SDI video output for the converted, synchronised signal distributed to two connectors, (OUT1/OUT2) and an input for an analogue reference signal with loop-through.

Albalá's TLE2001C02 module is an advanced communications controller for the TL2000 family of modular equipment. It is engineered to allow management via an Ethernet LAN of any member of the TL2000 line that allows remote control and is installed in the same mounting frame as the TLE20001C02 module which provides four general purpose terminals that can be independently configured as inputs or outputs and whose status can be controlled from a PC.
