Discovery-owned DTT channel RMC Decouverte has ordered a fourth season of its adaptation of global hit TV show Wheeler Dealers for the French market from leading local independent production company Pernel Media.

The new 12 x 52’ season will see car dealer Gerry Blyenberg and expert mechanic Aurélien Letheux return to buy, fix and sell the most iconic cars in the hope of making as big a profit as possible. The season will see the car enthusiasts move into a brand new and expanded garage, equipped with the latest mechanical technologies.

Wheeler Dealers was originally produced for Discovery UK by indie producer Attaboy and has run for 16 seasons to date. The original show has become a hit around the world including for Discovery Channel France. The fourth season of the version for France was commissioned by RMC Decouverte‘s Guenaelle Troly and Stéphane Sallé de Chou and will be executive produced by Pernel Media president Samuel Kissous.

“Wheeler Dealers France is now a proven success in France and it's great to see the show growing from strength to strength over three series,” said Pernel Media president Samuel Kissous. “This latest series brings the total of primetime episodes produced to 46 and demonstrates Pernel Media's ability to turn an international format into a successful returnable brand. We’ve made a huge effort to refresh the show in series four with the launch of a whole new garage in a brand-new location, consisting of more space and state-of-the-art mechanical technology.”

“We are excited to bring Wheeler Dealers France back for another season. This season, Gerry and Aurélien bring back their expert insight and reveal some of France’s most fascinating cars,” added Julien Bergeaud, senior vice-president, general manager of Discovery France.
