WE tv’s series, Love After Lockup: Life After Lockup, debuted to record premiere ratings among all key demos, making it the highest-rated season premiere ever for the franchise and delivering nearly 1.1 million total viewers in Nielsen Live+3 ratings.
A spinoff of the breakout hit Love After Lockup, the show chronicles five couples featured on the original show.
“In a loud and crowded landscape, the Lockup franchise has broken through with viewers and become part of pop culture, cemented with the astounding viewership growth we have achieved over a relatively short period of time,” said Marc Juris, president of WE tv. “We could not be more proud of the performance of this franchise, as well as the overall growth of WE tv viewership this year, built on our increasingly popular originals.”
WE tv has seen viewership growth in year-over-year ratings for 2019, powered by its original series, delivering double-digit increases among women 25-54 in Nielsen Live+3 ratings. Love After Lockup was 2018’s fastest-growing new cable reality show among women 25-54; and the second season continued its ratings growth by more than doubling its audience and ending its second season with the finale as the No 1 cable program in primetime on Friday night among women 18-49 and 25-54.
Love After Lockup: Life After Lockup follows “Love After Lockup’s Clint and Tracie; Marcelino and Brittany; Megan, Michael, and Sarah; Scott and Lizzie; and Andrea and Lamar, as they build their post-prison relationships and lives. The former inmates face new challenges and tackle many firsts in their new lives, from raising children to buying first homes to finding work and staying sober, all while living under the restrictions of parole.
