Leading food-focussed content provider Gusto Worldwide Media has struck a further content deal with SBS Food, Australia’s first 24/7 free-to-air food channel.
In October 2018, SBS Food acquired over 40 hours of original programming from Gusto Worldwide Media along with a turnkey digital marketing package including recipes and high resolution photography. Currently, several Gusto series are available to over four million Australians to view on SBS Food and on-demand streaming platform SBS On-Demand, including fan favourites One World Kitchen, The Urban Vegetarian, Bonacini’s Italy, which have collectively delivered a unique reach of over a million viewers.
Building on what it says is the popularity of previously acquired content, SBS Food will add four new Gusto titles to its line-up: Watts on the Grill (13 x 30’); season 2 of Bonacini’s Italy (15 x 30’), Bonacini’s Italian Christmas (1x60’); Michael Bonacini’s Christmas on the Farm (1x60’).
Watts on the Grill is a series all about delectable barbeque and sees chef Spencer Watts aim to inspire viewers to barbeque like a pro, from sizzling steaks to smoked chicken to steamy seafood – and even flavourful fruits and veggies. Bonacini’s Italy is a cooking series featuring fellow celebrity chef Michael Bonacini as he cooks up diverse Italian fare. Set in a contemporary kitchen, Bonacini explores 15 different regions of Italy by preparing dishes unique to each local tradition. In Michael Bonacini’s Christmas on the Farm, he interprets Welsh and Italian Christmas dishes from his childhood. One-hour holiday special Bonacini’s Italian Christmas takes viewers across five regions of Italy, sharing some Italian meals for the holidays.
“We created Gusto programming with a global audience in mind and we're excited to see our content so well-received in Australia,” said Chris Knight, president and CEO of Gusto Worldwide Media commenting on the deals.
