Leading video-on-demand provider SPI/FilmBox has given a boost to its Middle East bouquet after a new content licence agreement with Metro Goldwyn Mayer that will deliver a selection of new movie titles to subscribers in the region.
The Middle East is one of the fastest growing markets for SPI and the company attributes one of the main reasons for this growth to its ability to align itself with key global partners.
MGM movies in the slate include Get Shorty, Ronin, Pink Panther I & II, The Man in the Iron Mask, Legally Blonde, Carrie (2013), Robocop, The Thomas Crown Affair and Species I & II.
“I’m proud to announce our partnership with one of Hollywood’s biggest movie and media companies, Metro Goldwyn Mayer,” said Murat Muratoğlu, head of distribution at SPI International. “Much of my excitement comes from our ability to offer our Middle East subscribers some of the best movies that MGM has ever produced.”
