Global sports event organiser Amaury Sport Organisation has selected Content Marketplace, part of Globecast’s Digital Media Hub, for its clipped content sharing requirements.
Digital Media Hub is Globecast’s suite of services for sport and live events. Facilitating cross-platform live content publishing as well as VOD content creation and distribution, using the Content Marketplace module, it is claimed to increase significantly content monetisation opportunities in what are highly competitive markets.
A subsidiary of the Amaury Group, media and sport group that owns the newspaper L’Equipe, ASO is involved in five major sports including cycling with the Tour de France, motor sports with the Dakar, sailing with the Tour Voile, mass events with the Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris and golf with the Lacoste Ladies Open de France.
Having trialled a version of Content Marketplace at last year’s Rally Dakar, ASO has signed on to use the media management and content sharing platform across multiple events. ASO organises 210 days of competition per year, with 90 events in 25 countries. Content is shared with customers including television channels, the wider media and also for internal use.
Via a specially designed website, Content Marketplace will see use with ASO so that content is transcoded to multiple formats and then clipped. File data can then be associated with the video: for example, scripts, cue sheets or a press kit. Access and rights management is also handled, via a single user interface, with download and viewing statistics available.
