Swedish hotel-focused streaming service Nenda has chosen leading Nordic TV tech solution provider Norigin Media to provide user interface technology for an enhanced front-end.

Nenda aims to disrupt the worldwide B2B TV market with it offer and the company believes that typical TV experience in hotels is inferior to what guests obtain in their homes. In addition, the company says that current technical solutions are also both expensive and complex for hotels to handle.

The user interface requirements in the hotel sector are also especially high. The service must be easy and intuitive to navigate without technical knowledge on the part of hotel guests of all ages. Also, thanks to integration directly into the hotels’ systems, the TV experience is directly linked to the digital guest journey and can enable new unique functionalities, personalisation opportunities and business models.

Nenda is confident that it has the solution to the problem with an all-in-one streaming service offering films, sports, linear channels and rental shop. It is currently in discussions with the Nordic region's largest hotel chains and tests are booked after the summer.

Nenda sees its partnership with fellow Nordic firm Norigin — whose customers include the likes of Bonnier, Orange, FOX and Deutsche Telekom — will strengthen its position in the market with a user-friendly interface with unique features and system integrations.

Norigin’s task will be to develop Nenda's user interface, including smart TV apps for Android TV, Tizen and WebOS, as well as develop adaptations and integrations towards the back-end and the hotels' systems. “It’s always exhilarating to get to work with a new and innovative concept. We are excited to be working with Nenda and their ambitious vision to improve the TV experience in hotels and other neglected B2B segments,” explained Norigin Media CEO Ajey Anand. “With this new partnership, we look forward to updating old technologies that are still in use across the world.”

Anders Hässel, CEO and co-founder of Nenda, added: “We have very high demands and have had a tough selection process. No compromises are being made regarding the stability and quality of Nenda's technical performance. Norigin Media has, with enthusiasm and professionalism, transformed Nenda’s vision into a concrete concept that we can stand by. We are impressed with Norigin Media’s track record and look forward to working with a partner who understands and shares Nenda’s vision.”
