LG Electronics signs global licensing deal with TiVo

TiVo has inked a global IP licensing agreement with LG Electronics with the agreement expanding upon LG’s previous Rovi patent portfolio licence to also include the TiVo patent portfolio.

“Our licensing agreement with LG further solidifies our long-term partnership with them,” said Arvin Patel, executive vice president and chief IP officer at TiVo. “We are thrilled to be working with a leading consumer electronics brand and are excited to help further enhance their customers’ ability to discover and enjoy entertainment content on multiple devices.”

Also this week, Canada’s Shaw Communications said that it has entered into a multi-year extension of its agreement for TiVo’s i-Guide and its intellectual property (IP) licence, and has expanded its Rovi patent portfolio IP licence to also cover the TiVo patent portfolio.
