StarHub adds Kalaignar TV to its Indian content offer

Singapore pay-TV platform StarHub is adding Tamil general entertainment channel Kalaignar TV to its 21 Indian channel portfolio.

Available from 31 July 2019 at no additional cost to Indian Entertainment Pass customers, the channel’s programming will comprise 70% original productions. Kalaignar TV also has a movie library of 700 titles from classic hits to the latest blockbusters and a variety of entertainment ranging from reality dance shows and talk shows to drama serials.

Programming includes the flagship talent contest Nalaya Iyakkunar. Returning for the sixth season, the show aims to provide a platform for budding filmmakers to showcase their work. The competition has contributed to the success of Kollywood celebrities such as director Karthik Subburaj and actor Vijay Sethupathy.

Serial Poove Sempoove, starring Mounika and Niyas Khan, follows the story of Badhra, a righteous police officer struggling to make a choice between justice and kinship.
