Midco taps TiVo to improve video experience

US regional cable provider Midco has selected TiVo’s Next-Gen Platform to improve its subscribers’ entertainment discovery experience.

In business for nearly 90 years, Midco serves customers in the US states of Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin and Kansas and will now use the Next-Gen Platform to transition to IPTV by deploying TiVo’s cloud-based IPTV suite of solutions, including IP-based VOD, IP linear, re-start, catch-up and network DVR, across a host of clients.

Midco’s customers already enjoy TiVo Experience 4 on their existing set-top boxes. Offering what is described as ‘intuitive’ navigation, personalised viewing recommendations, universal discovery across content sources, and a voice-enabled remote control powered by conversational. In 2020, Midco will deploy TiVo’s Next-Gen Platform on managed Android TV set-top-boxes and iOS and Android mobile devices in order to enhance customer engagement, increase customer satisfaction and capture new market segments.
